About This Webpage

Aerial Services' office was moved due to severe flooding of the Cedar River in Cedar Falls. A new office is now open on the other side of town.

Conditions & New Office Updates

Thursday 6/19/08: FTP and VPN web services are now operating. Production continues at the new site as operations are getting back to normal. Some further work is taking place at the flooded 2120 Center Street building, to reclaim any needed items and prepare for further inspection. Future updates, if any, on this webpage may be sporadic.

Wednesday 6/18/08: Aerial Services is now 99% operational at the new location. New temporary infrastructure (phones, network, power) is also operational. Production began yesterday and continued today. The 2120 Center Street office and materials are being dismantled, moved to 6221 Chancellor, or trashed.

Monday 6/16/08: Continued progress was made today in the new office. Computer networking lines were ran throughout the building, plus additional materials and furniture were brought over and cleaned for use in the new office. The facility itself is becoming more like home with desks and departments taking shape. A new phone system will be installed on Tuesday.

Sunday 6/15/08: Sunday served mainly as a needed day of rest. Many workstations and servers are operational. The goal is to have 75-100% of all equipment and services operational soon. In just a few short days employees have accomplished an amazing recovery. Much is still needed to get back on track, but the company is proud of what has been accomplished to far!

Saturday 6/14/08: Most furniture from the old office has been moved to the new facilities. Electricians are now upgrading the power to meet the large and growing needs. The network infrastructure is also growing rapidly. Finally, the telephone system was destroyed, so a new one should be installed by Tuesday. Employees continue to sweat it out and are simply amazing. Now thoughts and prayers go up to those in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City who are feeling the brunt of the flooding. Many businesses have been damaged in those areas as well. The high water will continue flooding as it moves downstream.

Friday 6/13/08: Much was accomplished setting up the new location, but it slowed by a lack of power to the new facility. Today the company was able to get the precious conference room table to the new facility. It took about 10 people to move it in two large pieces. Further, most of the workstations are now setup and only awaiting for power and networking. This said, the real news is the continued outpouring of concern and support from all over. This has really been wonderful. Thanks to all who have communicated your support for Aerial Services.

Thursday 6/12/08: The flood site was accessed on Thursday 6/12/08. The equipment stored in the garage and second floor survived the flood as expected and was taken to the new office.

Wednesday 6/11/08: The river crested during the early AM hours on Wednesday 6/11/08. All vital equipment, data, and resources were moved off-site, to the garage (which is on higher ground), or to the upstairs of the main office.
